What is the secret to lasting happiness? What can assure you security today and in the future? What can you hold on to for comfort in times of pain? What can help us navigate through setbacks in life? Is it money, fame, networks, or power?
Spiritual traditions from around the world have sought answers to these fundamental questions, and found that none of the above can provide lasting happiness. They remind us that the true answers lie within ourselves. In the interconnectedness we share with the Universal Force. Yet, we often overlook this wisdom and continue the chase outside. Much like the man searching for his lost key under a streetlight, who, when asked, ‘Did you drop it here?’ replied, ‘No, but this is where the light is!’—we often seek comfort where it’s convenient rather than where the truth actually lies.”
Every knowledge tradition has preserved a treasury of stories that capture the wisdom of life. They have passed down through generations. And are in a way more powerful than any estate, treasure, talismans that we can pass on to future generations. It is the wisdom that prepares us for life, It helps us tide over the ups and downs which life brings. They equip us to not only overcome them, but to emerge stronger. To become the best of what we can be. To value the gifts that life offers us every day.
Sabad is a journey into the wisdom of these traditions. A journey seeking answers to the biggest questions in life: What is the purpose of our lives? How can we find joy and peace? How should we navigate pain and anxiety? It is a space for us to come together as learners, seekers, as fellow travelers walking on this planet at the same time.
